Ticket sales for Qstock 2008 have been rapid. Daily tickets for Saturday were sold out a couple of weeks ago, and now the Friday tickets are sold out, too. Lippupalvelu locations and Levykauppa Äx record store in Oulu still have two-day passes available.

Daily tickets for Qstock 2008 have been sold out. Lippupalvelu locations and Levykauppa Äx record store in Oulu still have two-day passes available.
The Qstock 2008 - festival paper is now available for free in most bars and cafés as well as several other public places in Oulu.
NB! This is a contest! Unfortunately, the paper did not turn out as smoothly as silk, so there is a typo on the cover. Tell us what went wrong and send us an email at lehti@qstock.org by July 20th. Write "Tyypit ei osaa" on the subject line. All respondents will participate in a drawing for a two-day pass to Qstock 2008!

Qstock Saturday Sold Out!
Tickets for this year's Qstock have sold at a record-breaking rate, and individual tickets for Saturday have already been sold out. There.s no reason to panic, however, as there are still two-day tickets and tickets for Friday available at Lippupalvelu and Levykauppa Äx record store in Oulu. In addition, Arina locations, Micks and Prisma stores sell two-day tickets for S-group card holders, but there is only a limited number of those tickets available.

Bands for Wacken Metal Battle 2008 selected!
As before, Qstock hosts the Final of Wacken Metal Battle band contest. The finalists, selected by internet media Vertigo, are The Howl from Tornio, Seith from Oulu and Retrogression from Tuusula. The three bands will compete against each other on the Saturday of Qstock 2008. The winner will play at Wacken Open Air -festival in Germany a week after Qstock.

Tickets for Qstock 2008 are now available through Lippupalvelu (Ticket Service Finland) and Levykauppa Äx record store in Oulu. Two-day passes cost 65 euros in advance, 70 euros at the gate. Daily passes cost 39 euros in advance, 45 euros at the gate. Don't forget the Levykauppa Äx benefits for quick buyers!!
There are updates in our "Bands" section. The latest confirmed bands for Qstock 2008 are Agua de Annique from the Netherlands, The Sun from Estonia and the Finnish Entwine, Diablo, Jippu, Black Magic Six, and Radiopuhelimet.
The last set of bands, show times and daily schedules will be available on our website in early June.

Advance tickets for Qstock 2008 go for sale on Monday, June 2, 2008. They are available through Lippupalvelu (Ticket Service Finland), and Levykauppa Äx record store in Oulu.
One-day tickets for either Friday or Saturday cost 39 euros in advance and 45 euros at the gate. Two-day passes cost 65 euros in advance and 70 euros at the gate.
The fans from abroad can buy their tickets to Qstock 2008 conveniently through the website of Lippupalvelu (Ticket Service Finland).

MANIC STREET PREACHERS (UK) to QSTOCK
The latest addition to the Qstock 2008 program is Manic Street Preachers, the legendary Welsh trio whose latest album, Send Away The Tigers was released in May 2007. Known for their melodic, guitar-driven rock, Manic Street Preachers is one of the best known British bands internationally. Among their greatest hits are A Design For Life, Everything Will Go and If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next. Qstock is extremely proud to add this brilliant line-up to this year’s program.

Area changes to Qstock 2008!
The festival area for Qstock 2008 will undergo significant changes, as the Raatinsaari island will be included in the festival area as a whole. The expansion of the festival area introduces significant improvements to the overall practicality and security of the festival area. More details and photos of the new festival area will be added to this website soon, so stay tuned!

Qstock 2008 new website and the first artists announced!
Welcome to the new Qstock 2008 website! As you will see, there is a lot of information that is still missing from these pages, but don't worry: the website is being updated constantly. We have also released the first list of artists confirmed for the summer 2008. Check our "Bands" section for a closer look at the artists at this year's Qstock.

Within Temptation (NED) to Qstock 2008 in Oulu!
Known for their symphonic and dark-toned metal, the Dutch Within Temptation is the first foreign line up confirmed for this summer's Qstock. After releasing The Heart of Everything - another successful album by the band - Within Temptation has been busy touring Europe, Japan and North America, taking on the stages of South America in April.
Another foreign band secured for this year's festival programme is Dark Tranquillity, a melodic death metal line-up from Sweden. Among the first top-level Finnish bands who have confirmed their gigs at Qstock 2008 are Scandinavian Music Group, 22 Pistepirkko, Mokoma, Kotiteollisuus, YUP, Stam1na, PMMP, Ismo Alanko Teholla and Sturm Und Drang.
As before, the programme at Happiteltta (The O2 Tent), arranged as a way of cooperation between Qstock and cultural society Trank, will be heavily concentrated on electronica or electronic music. Among the performers in Happiteltta are Rex The Dog (UK), The Field (SWE), Eero Johannes, Komytea, 120Days (NOR), Artificial Latvamäki, Äänijännite and Teatteri Airopik.
There will be significant changes to the area arrangements in Qstock 2008. The one and only goal for these new arrangements is to improve the enjoyment of the festival fans and the quality of services at the festival. A more detailed description of the area changes will be released later on in the spring.
The sixth annual Qstock will take place in Oulu, Finland, on July 25 - 26, 2008. Ticket sales to the festival will begin at the end of May/early June.
